In 1901 Mr. SMITH from Avery, set up a
photography studio and picture gallery in a small building south of
Wilson’s Bakery. Lacona had another permanent photographer in the late
1890s but was bought out in August by Mr. SMITH. He lived in Lacona but
eventually moved to Chariton with the Lacona business open on certain
days and hours.
