    Frank WARDEN

Frank WARDEN was known as The “Ossified Man” and he had been exhibiting himself throughout the U.S. for over 15 years, baffling doctors. His bones and muscles were ossifying and he was carried like a board. It was impossible for him to move his arms, legs or head but he could roll his eyes, smile and talk a little. His food was prepared in liquid form. “His outer body was almost a solid shell yet he was alive; people had never seen anything like it.” It is believed he died in the East, of cancer of the mouth. He visited relatives southeast of Lacona and went on display in the back of the Murray Building, the current post office in 1923.
