Nicholas and Rachel HELMS and children from Ohio
make the first permanent settlement in newly opened territory, southwest
of Bauer, Section 19. Nicholas died in 1865 and is buried in the Willis
Cemetery. Rachel died in Missouri around 1872.(Source - Chronology of the
